The Brazilian Oil And Gas Giant, Petrobras, Identified The Presence Of Hydrocarbons In The Pioneering Well Of Block Aram 1-BRSA-1381-SPS (Curaçao), Located In The Pre-Salt Of The Santos Basin
Petrobras announced yesterday (10/28), in a relevant fact to the Market, that the formation test in the pioneering well 1-BRSA-1381-SPS (Curaçao) in the pre-salt of the southwestern portion of the Santos Basin was successfully completed. The new discovery of hydrocarbons is located 240 km from the city of Santos-SP, at a water depth of 1,905 meters, in Block Aram.
Hydrocarbons are compounds made up of only carbon and hydrogen, with oil being their main natural source.
According to Petrobras, oil samples that will later be characterized through laboratory analyses were collected during the test. This TFR, conducted about 6 months after the completion of drilling of the pioneering 1-BRSA-1381-SPS in January 2022, complements the evaluation of this well based on profiles.

The Petrobras is the operator of the block and holds 80% of the stake, in partnership with CNPC (20%).
