Petrobras Will Acquire More Than 540 Kilometers of Submarine Umbilicals in This Bidding

To move forward with its infrastructure projects and investments in the pre-salt, Petrobras recently initiated a new bidding process to obtain 545 kilometers of flexible submarine pipelines (umbilicals), with more than half under national local content.

The Development of the Bidding Will Occur in Two Stages:

  • Lot 2 – Up to 244.9 kilometers will be obtained by the state company, including specifications for assembly, supervision, installation, storage, rental of spools among others within the contract portfolio.

According to the resolution of the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), the local content for this bidding will be 55%. Learn how the Local Content Certification System works here. Offers will be collected by Petrobras and ANP from October 13 to 20.

This bidding is very similar to another recent one aimed at projects in Itapu and Marlim, with 566 kilometers of flexible pipelines at a cost of $1.24 billion.

Today, Petrobras has guaranteed participation from companies Prysmian, MfX do Brasil, and Oceannering in this bidding, as they are already providing services in other projects of the state company to date.
