Young Summit Rio Oil & Gas Will Promote Over 20 Hours of Roundtables to Demystify the Oil and Gas Industry for Young Professionals
The Oil and Gas sector is open to hearing from young professionals, thus fostering an increasingly innovative, diverse, transparent, and sustainable industry. It is in this context that the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP), with the initiative of Rio Oil & Gas, launches the Young Summit – sponsored by Petrobras, TotalEnergies, NTS, Prumo and TechnipFMC. The event aimed at students and young professionals will run until December 2, online and free of charge.

“We want to show that the Oil and Gas segment is also innovative and seeks to modernize its management of technological innovation. This sector is now essential to meet society’s desires for a fair and secure energy transition, and for that, disruptive solutions will be very welcome,” analyzes Cristina Pinho, Corporate Executive Director of IBP.
Carla Diniz, Chair of the Young Summit and Director of People and Management at NTS, adds that there is a connection point between the academic environment and the industry: “We always need to renew our chain with greater diversity of ideas and innovations. Therefore, professors and educational institutions wishing to share their knowledge and companies interested in attracting and retaining talents that will contribute to innovative processes in the transition to a low-carbon energy matrix are very welcome,” she complements.

The Career Pillar Will Address Trends for Professionalization and Training in the Oil and Gas Industry
The Young Summit will feature 12 content sessions divided into four pillars. The Career pillar will address trends for professionalization and training, making young people the protagonists of their own trajectory and showing them that, in the industry, there is room for careers beyond engineering, such as library science, medicine, psychology, economics, communication, and law, just to name a few examples.
The Diversity & Inclusion pillar will discuss industry initiatives involving workplace relations with gender, race and ethnicity equity, accessibility, people with disabilities, and the LGBTQIA+ group.
The Entrepreneurship and Digital Transformation panel will present the possibility of approaching new challenges with more creativity, agility, clarity, and connection to the purposes of a generation.
Sustainability invites young people to participate in the debate about the risks and the role of the Oil and Gas sector in sustainable consumption. The changes occurring in the Oil & Gas industry in a universe of carbon neutrality will also be addressed. The 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aligned with measures to ensure the ESG agenda for future generations, will be highlighted.

The Event Will Be Broadcast Live from the Startups Factory to the Content Hub of Rio Oil & Gas
Online and free of charge, with over 20 hours of programming, the event will be broadcast live from the Startups Factory to the content hub of Rio Oil & Gas, from 9:30 AM to 5 PM. There will be a sign language interpreter, interaction with the audience via real-time chat, and participants will receive a certificate.
