The Used Honda Fit Is Gaining Attention in the Automotive Market in 2024. The Model Stands Out Among Used Cars for Offering a Combination of Modern Technologies and an Attractive Price, Staying Below R$ 60,000. With Its Reputation for Reliability and Versatility, Honda’s Car Has Been the Choice of Many Drivers Looking for a Complete and Economical Vehicle.

Since 2022, the Honda Fit has ceased production in Brazil, being one of the brand’s best-selling models, making room for the City Hatch, closing an 18-year cycle without interruptions in its market. Now, the used Honda Fit has been gaining attention in the current automotive market costing less than R$ 60,000. Check if it is still worth buying the Honda Fit in the used car market in 2024.

A Bit of History of the Honda Fit in the Automotive Market

Abroad, the Honda Fit was born in 2001, being compact on the outside, with a length of 3.85 m, it stood out for its internal space, with a wheelbase of 2.45 m. Being a blend of hatchback and minivan, the model arrived here in 2003, becoming the second vehicle to be produced in Sumaré (SP), alongside the Civic, which had been there alone since 1997.

At its launch in the automotive market, it was available in LX and LXL versions with a new 1.4 naturally aspirated engine, with an option for a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission, one of its differentiators even at that time. In 2004, Honda introduced the Fit EX, with a 1.5 engine, equipped with VTEC, producing 105 horsepower, with the same transmissions as the 1.4, being the famous Fit with a dot on the “i”.

In 2007, the 1.4 became flex-fuel. The second generation of the Fit was presented in October 2008, as the 2009 line. It maintained the option of 1.4 and 1.5 engines; however, it replaced the CVT with a traditional 5-speed automatic transmission. It grew 5 cm in length and also had a new impression on its design.

What Is the Best Version of the Honda Fit in the Used Car Market?

The Most Successful Version of the Used Honda Fit in the Automotive Market Is the LX, with a CVT transmission, height-adjustable driver’s seat, 15-inch alloy wheels, electric mirrors in the body color, and the famous ULT modular seat system. The multifunction steering wheel and dashboard with blue and white lighting became standard features in the model in 2016.

Next is the EX version, always with CVT alongside equipment such as a 5-inch multimedia center, Bluetooth, rearview camera, fog lights, 16-inch wheels, folding key, multifunction steering wheel, and height adjustment. It became more modern in 2016, featuring the same blue dashboard as the EXL, mirrors with turn signals, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Points to Be Observed in the Used Honda Fit

During the test drive, it is important to pay attention to some points of the Honda Fit in the used car market. The solid tappets in the cylinder head require periodic checks (every 40,000 km), as the proper functioning of the engine depends on the valve clearance adjustment.

The accumulation of impurities can jam or even break the throttle body. In extreme cases, the engine may even stop functioning. The problem is resolved with cleaning the throttle body and recalibrating the system.

The firm tuning of springs and shock absorbers takes its toll on the lifespan of components such as bushings, bump stops, and sway bars. Shock absorbers with leaks or damaged bellows are signs of lack of maintenance. The transmission fluid must be replaced every 40,000 km or 24 months. Vibration and jolts indicate that the metallic chain is slipping, a problem caused by old, oxidized fluid or fluid that is out of the manufacturer’s specifications.

O meu faz média de 18 Km/l de gasolina aditivada em auto-estrada a 100 km/h, sem ar condicionado e com 2 ocupantes. Na cidade faz 12 Km/l em trânsito normal. No trânsito engarrafado, nenhum carro é econômico.
