Port Sector Suffers From The Lack Of Qualified Labor To Fill Positions Of Technological Innovation In Ports. Port Of Santos Is A Great Example.
Located in the coastal city of Santos, the Port of Santos is one of the most important in the continent. With such structure, logistics, and technology, the location needs the best professionals and a lot of qualified labor. However, the Port of Santos is having many difficulties finding qualified professionals who possess the technical knowledge for the development of technologies and new logistical solutions. As a result, many job positions remain vacant due to the lack of labor.
With competition among other port terminals, the Port of Santos requires highly qualified labor to implement technologies that can solve the problems presented. Generally, the specialists at the Port work on a specific issue, seeking techniques and improvements to increase their efficiency and automation.
In an article published in A Tribuna, Ricardo Pupo Larguesa, founding partner of T2S Technologies, states that there is a lack of training courses in the market to enhance workers’ abilities to develop services, hence the difficulty in finding qualified labor to fill job vacancies.
