“We, from the State Government, are working swiftly and are committed to creating conditions to attract companies that produce renewable energies to Ceará. We are committed to providing all institutional support for the Mingyang project to be consolidated. We are very happy and excited to establish this clean energy matrix in Ceará and Brazil,” said the head of the Industry Department, Maia Júnior.
Offshore Wind Energy in Brazil
While Mingyang decides on the details of the factory installation in Pecém, projects for generating offshore wind energy are gaining momentum. Local and international entrepreneurs are working to enable the installation of 4 wind farms taking advantage of the wind power blowing at sea, in Caucaia (1), Camocim (1), and Amontada (2).
The project of the Asa Branca Maritime Wind Complex is expected to produce 400 MW off the coast of the municipality of Amontada, in an area with 15 km front to the continent, at a distance between 3 km and 8 km from the beach. The enterprise will have its own Transmission Line and plans to use shallow-draft jack-up vessels to install foundations, transition pieces, towers, nacelles, blades, submarine control/electric cables, and the scour protection around the foundations.
