The Price Of Gasoline At The Pumps Is In Constant Change Since July, While Ethanol Has Seen Several Increases
And the price instability of gasoline continues. Now, in this month of December, the average price of fuel has decreased for the fifth consecutive month, now standing at R$ 5.27 per liter. Compared to November, the price of gasoline at the pumps had a reduction of 1.06%.
Since July, gasoline prices at the pumps have been “uncertain,” as it was in this same month that the price of fuel experienced its first decrease. In contrast, the price at the ethanol pumps shows an average price of R$ 4.31 per liter, an increase of 0.61%.
Even with this increase, according to information from Edenred Brazil, responsible for the IPTL, ethanol is still cheaper than gasoline at the pumps; however, although the difference is considerable, it is still advantageous to refuel with gasoline.

Could The Price Of Gasoline Increase At The Pumps?
Increase In Fuels Across Regions Of Brazil
According to some price surveys, the northern region of Brazil has the highest average prices for gasoline at the pumps and also for ethanol, being R$5.45 for gasoline and R$4.61 for ethanol, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Central-West region stands out for the lowest price of ethanol, being resold for R$3.97. The Southeast region has the most affordable prices for gasoline at the pumps, with the fuel being sold at R$5.10 per liter.
The survey also revealed that the cheapest gasoline prices found in Brazil were in Amazonas (despite the northern region having the highest prices for fuels), with the liter being sold for R$4.85. The cheapest price of ethanol in Brazil was found in Paraíba for R$ 3.77 per liter.
The Ups And Downs Of Prices
In the face of this impasse in gasoline and ethanol prices, the state that increased the price of ethanol the most was Paraíba, with a rise of 4.05%, going from R$3.62 to R$3.77. As for the price of gasoline, the highest price recorded was in Amapá, increasing from R$5.17 to R$5.32.
Speaking of price decreases, the highlighted states were Bahia and Roraima, which lowered their prices, respectively for gasoline by -6.06% and for ethanol by -3.56%.
