São Paulo City Hall Opens 1,800 Positions in 2025 with Salaries Up to R$ 5,8 Thousand. Opportunities in Various Sectors Promise Intense Competition.

The São Paulo City Hall announced the opening of over 1,800 job positions for 2025, spread across different areas and with salaries ranging from R$ 712 to R$ 5,813. The opportunities include roles from high school level to positions requiring higher education, making it one of the largest hiring pushes ever made by the municipality in recent years.

The announcement comes at a time of economic recovery and high demand for formal job placement, and it promises to intensify the competition among candidates seeking stability and better salaries.

City Hall Selection Process: How to Participate

Those interested in applying for positions at the city hall must register by August 27, at 6 PM, through the Cate Portal (Support Center for Work and Entrepreneurship) or in person at one of the 46 units spread across the city, including fixed and mobile stations.

Those opting for in-person assistance need to bring ID, CPF, and work card (physical or digital). According to the municipal administration, about 600 positions will have immediate selection conducted by the companies themselves, directly at the central Cate unit, which should speed up the hiring process.

Job Positions Focused on Strategic Sectors

The distribution of over 1,800 job positions addresses essential sectors of the São Paulo economy. The cleaning segment holds the highest number of opportunities, with over 400 positions available throughout all regions of the city.

Salaries range from R$ 1,345 to R$ 2,300, and most positions require prior experience and compatible education.

In the customer service sector, there are over 200 positions for establishment attendants, many of which are permanent and do not require prior experience. Offered salaries range from R$ 800 to R$ 2,170, providing a gateway for those seeking their first formal job.

In gastronomy, there are 40 permanent positions mainly aimed at candidates with completed elementary education and experience in the sector. Salaries range from R$ 1,518 to R$ 2,360.

City Hall Positions for Telemarketing and Construction

The telemarketing sector, traditionally one of the largest employers in São Paulo, opens 26 permanent positions for 2025, distributed across different regions of the capital. The offered salary ranges from R$ 1,200 to R$ 3,048, and many companies do not require prior experience, increasing opportunities for young individuals and professionals seeking reemployment.

In the construction area, the São Paulo City Hall announced 40 positions aimed at roles such as construction helpers, general laborers, and cleaning assistants, with salaries between R$ 1,690 and R$ 2,189. The expectation is that these positions will attract professionals already familiar with the sector who are seeking stability and better working conditions.

Impact on the Job Market in São Paulo

São Paulo is the largest city in the country, concentrating a significant portion of the formal job offers. The opening of over 1,800 positions by the municipal administration not only helps reduce unemployment but also stimulates strategic sectors such as services, commerce, and construction.

Experts point out that actions like this strengthen public employment policies, creating a link between workers and businesses that need to quickly fill essential positions. Additionally, using Cate as an intermediary speeds up hiring and makes the process more transparent.

The search for stability, associated with the opportunity to enter the municipal public sector, is likely to attract thousands of applicants, making each position highly contested.

A Reflection of the Need to Generate Jobs

The announcement of the positions comes amid the challenge faced by São Paulo in balancing the high demand for formal jobs and pressure on the services and healthcare sectors. The package of opportunities launched by the São Paulo City Hall is seen as part of an effort to ensure greater inclusion in the market and strengthen the local economy.

And you, do you intend to compete for one of the more than 1,800 positions at São Paulo City Hall in 2025, or do you believe that intense competition will require even more preparation from candidates?
