President Bolsonaro Wants New Refineries and Questions Gasoline Price Increase

The President Says That New Refineries Would Be A Way To Control The Price And Also Criticized “Did You Enjoy The Gasoline Price Increase Again?”

President Jair Bolsonaro questioned the new increase in gasoline prices and said he hopes new refineries will enter the Brazilian market, so that this can be a way to control the rising fuel prices. Gasoline and diesel increased by 4.8% and 5%, respectively. The increase took effect last Tuesday (2).

Diesel And Cooking Gas Have Federal Taxes (PIS) And (Cofins) Eliminated By Decree Issued By Bolsonaro:

The President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, issued a decree and a provisional measure on Monday night that eliminates the rates of the Program for Social Integration and the Public Server Heritage Formation Contribution (PIS) and the Contribution for Financing Social Security (Cofins) applicable to the sale and import of diesel oil and cooking gas (GLP). Adjustments In The Prices Of Gasoline, Diesel, And Cooking Gas:

Petrobras announced new adjustments at the refineries, a 4.8% increase in gasoline and a 5% increase in diesel. The adjustment took effect on Tuesday (2). Meanwhile, the GLP sold by Petrobras also experienced a 5% increase, now costing R$3.05 per kg, equivalent to R$39.69 for 13kg.

So far this year, gasoline has increased by 42%, while diesel has increased by 34%. This means that gasoline prices at gas stations have increased by 8.8% this year.
