Eco Bunkers
PRIO will launch Eco Bunkers, a green fuel for ships with 15% biodiesel incorporation, developed from the recycling of residual raw materials, produced at PRIO’s biodiesel factory in Aveiro.
According to PRIO, Eco Bunkers will not only reduce CO2 emissions by up to 18% but also allow for a consumption reduction of up to 5%. “It is therefore a fuel that combines quality, savings, and sustainability by promoting a circular economy by recycling waste that would otherwise have a high treatment cost,” the company emphasizes.
About PRIO
PRIO is the largest biofuel producer in Portugal and the third largest biodiesel producer in Europe from residual raw materials. To ensure the distribution of these biofuels, it operates and supplies a network of more than 250 service stations from North to South of Portugal, where it offers, in addition to conventional liquid fuels, charging for electric vehicles and fuel supply for Gas Vehicles (GPL Auto). To ensure its competitiveness in liquid fuels and GPL, PRIO operates an independent storage and primary logistics terminal in Aveiro, through which it can supply the international market.
To ensure the supply of its biodiesel factory in the domestic market, PRIO coordinates the collection of used cooking oils and other residual raw materials at more than 600 collection points in Portugal.
PRIO has a prominent position in electric mobility, with over 10 years of experience and more than 150 charging points. In bottled gas, it currently has a network of more than 2,000 points of sale. It is also beginning its expansion into Spain, where it already operates 2 service stations. It has 100% Portuguese operational and production bases and has triple QSA certification (Quality, Safety, and Environment) for the biodiesel factory and the tank park.
