A course on female empowerment was created to promote discussions about work, income, self-esteem, independence, female health, etc.

The State Secretariat for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (SEDPcD), with the support of the State Secretariat for Policies for Women (SP Mulher), announced the opening of registrations for the free course on Leadership and Female Empowerment.

According to the information, this initiative is part of the TODAS in-Rede program, which focuses on providing online classes for women with disabilities on topics ranging from entrepreneurship to women’s rights.

The Course on Leadership and Female Empowerment

According to SEDPcD, this initiative is the result of a partnership with the Metroviário Friends Association of the Exceptional (AME). Furthermore, the agency states that the program will have certification, will be online, and accessible in sign language.

The classes will take place next month in May, specifically on the days 12, 14, 19, 21, and 26, from 7 PM to 10 PM, with limited spots available and registrations can be made until March 5. For more information click here.

TODAS in-Rede Program

The TODAS in-Rede program was created in 2020 by SEDPcD with the goal of promoting discussions on numerous themes, such as work, income, self-esteem, empowerment and independence, female health, violence prevention, interpersonal relationships, aging, socio-emotional skills, theoretical foundations, rights, and others.

According to SEDPcD, the initiative plays a crucial role for women with disabilities due to the persistent global reality of violence against women. In this sense, the agency states that the course is a transformative journey for women, providing not only the development of leadership skills but also strengthening confidence and awareness of their potential. “It is a significant step towards building fairer and more equal communities,” says SEDPcD.
