Enel X Will Invest in Creating a Charging Station for Electric Vehicles in Fortaleza
In the Northeast, more specifically in Fortaleza, Enel X is developing two charging stations for electric vehicles, partly public, by February 2021. The project for Fortaleza results from the partnership between Enel X and Estapar (Parking Network), which aims to create “Ecovagas” that will be able to charge about 80% of the batteries of electric vehicles in up to three hours.

The installation process of Enel’s “ecovagas” in Fortaleza for charging electric vehicles began in December and is expected to be completed by February 2021. In the capital of Ceará, charging points for electric vehicles will be installed in the neighborhoods of Dionísio Torres and Praia de Iracema.
Enel Conducts Survey of Electric Vehicles in Brazil and Explains Why It Decided to Invest in Fortaleza for the Project
Enel X conducted a survey revealing that there are about 1,700 electric vehicles in Brazil, with around 24 of them located in Ceará. According to Paulo Maisonnave from Enel X’s E-mobility sector, the electric vehicle segment is growing in Fortaleza. This is one of the reasons why Enel chose Fortaleza to host the project among 23 other selected cities.

Smart Charging of the “Ecovagas”
The stations to be installed provide smart and semi-fast charging for electric vehicles, capable of charging up to 80% of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle batteries in approximately 3 hours. The stations will also offer assistance for the management and maintenance of electric vehicles.
