After Months of Suspension, ANAC Resumes Tests for Flight Attendant and Reignites Expectations in the Brazilian Civil Aviation Sector.
ANAC Resumes Tests for Flight Attendant and Heats Up the Civil Aviation Sector in Brazil
The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) resumed, on Monday (13), the theoretical tests for flight attendants, suspended since June. The decision marks an important step for the civil aviation sector in Brazil, which had been pressing for the return of the assessments.
Applications and scheduling must be done through the website of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), responsible for administering the exams.
The resumption was made possible after a new budget analysis confirmed the availability of resources to reactivate the selection process.

Campina Grande public tender explodes with 1,000 vacancies, four official notices, and exams already scheduled for August, putting aspiring public servants in Paraíba on high alert.
Thus, according to ANAC, the measure aims to meet the growing demand for qualified professionals, as the flight attendant certification is a competitive differential for airlines.
Understand Why the Tests Were Suspended
The assessments had been suspended since June 6, when ANAC needed to temporarily halt the exams due to a budgetary contingency—that is, the blockage of part of the financial resources—determined by a decree published at the end of May.
At the time, the decision generated concern among students and professionals in Civil Aviation, who were waiting for the exam to advance in their careers.
The impasse lasted a little over four months and was only resolved after the partial recomposition of the Agency’s budget, through a reallocation of resources from the Ministry of Ports and Airports.
Thus, with the new funding, ANAC was able to release the theoretical exams again and restore the exam schedule, ensuring the continuity of the professional certification process.
Guidelines for Candidates for ANAC Tests
According to ANAC, candidates must carefully follow the instructions provided by FGV:
- New Applications: those who have not yet registered, or requested a refund of the fee, need to create a new account directly on the Getulio Vargas Foundation website.
- Maintained Applications: candidates who did not request a refund will be able to schedule their tests normally.
- Second Attempt Tests: those who already had second attempt tests scheduled before the suspension must reschedule the exam, with a maximum period of 90 days from the resumption.
In this way, these guidelines seek to ensure an organized and transparent transition, avoiding losses for participants who were waiting for the release of the assessments.
Resumption Benefits the Market and Values Professional Training
The return of the tests represents a boost to technical training and employability in the Brazilian Civil Aviation sector. With the high demand for qualified flight attendants and crew members, airlines see the ANAC exam as an essential selection criterion.
Moreover, the return of theoretical tests reinforces the Agency’s commitment to training and operational safety, which are fundamental pillars of national aviation.
For the sector, the return of assessments is symbolic. It indicates that, even amid budgetary constraints, there is a priority in maintaining the quality of regulatory and educational processes related to aviation.
Civil Aviation in Recovery and New Perspectives
The reopening of the tests occurs at a time of gradual recovery of Civil Aviation in Brazil, along with the increase in passenger demand and the resumption of operations on various regional routes.
With more qualified professionals entering the market, the sector gains strength and credibility, strengthening the operational structure of airlines.
Thus, the resumption of ANAC tests represents not just a bureaucratic return. Therefore, it signals a new phase of valuing technical labor, essential for ensuring the safety and sustainable growth of Brazilian aviation.
