The yield from savings is the same across all banks. Caixa Econômica Federal follows the same rules established by the Central Bank.

To know exactly how much an amount yields, it is necessary to observe the deposit date and the so-called account anniversary.

Only after 30 full days does the money yield in full. If the customer makes a withdrawal before the period, the calculation is proportional.

How Much Does R$ 200,000 Yield in Savings

The most important thing is to understand that the current savings rate is 0.67% per month, according to the data from July.

Thus, by investing R$ 200,000 and keeping this amount idle for 30 days, the return will be approximately R$ 1,340.

This amount is credited on the account anniversary date, free of taxes.

Savings are exempt from Income Tax, meaning that the deposited amount is the same that goes into the customer’s pocket.

Additionally, the savings account allows the customer to move money, make withdrawals, or use the card provided by some banks.

However, any withdrawal before the anniversary date reduces the yield, as the correction will only be made on the amount that remains in the account until completing 30 days.

Advantages and Limitations of Savings

Caixa’s savings do not offer great returns, but it is one of the simplest options to save money. The customer does not need to understand investments, funds, or stocks to get started.

All it takes is to open the account and leave the amount invested. Therefore, those seeking only safety and practicality can feel comfortable with this type of yield.

However, many consider the yield to be low. After all, R$ 1,340 monthly on R$ 200,000 represents less than 1% return per month.

Other investments may yield more, even with moderate risks.

But the simplicity of savings is still the main attraction, as it does not require technical knowledge and is protected by the Credit Guarantee Fund.

Is the Yield Worth It?

For some, receiving R$ 1,340 per month without paying taxes may seem reasonable. For others, this amount is considered insufficient to keep money idle.

Savings do not lose money, but they also do not keep up with inflation in many periods, which can reduce purchasing power over time.

Because this fixed yield does not depend on market fluctuations, many Brazilians still prefer this option.

However, those seeking to multiply their assets more quickly often consider alternatives such as CDBs, LCIs, funds, or Treasury Direct. The difference is that these products may have taxes and require specific terms.

How the Anniversary Date Works

To guarantee the R$ 1,340 yield, it is necessary to respect the account anniversary. For example, if the deposit was made on July 17, only on August 17 will the money have earned the full amount.

Any withdrawal before this reduces the correction, as the countdown restarts.

Therefore, the secret of savings is the discipline of not touching the money before the deadline.

This feature makes the monthly yield predictable and easy to calculate. Just multiply the amount invested by the rate of 0.67% per month.

Is It Worth It?

The final decision depends on each person’s profile. Some prefer the safety of knowing they will have R$ 1,340 every month, without risks and without taxes.

Others see this yield as low and seek investments with better prospects.

The most important thing is to know that, with R$ 200,000 in Caixa’s savings, the monthly return will always be this while the rate of 0.67% remains.

With this calculation, each customer can assess whether this is a good strategy for their money.

After all, the amount does not change and is available for withdrawal, but the monthly income can be considered limited compared to other opportunities.
