The State University of Maranhรฃo (UEMA), through its Center for Technologies for Education (UEMAnet), has opened registration for the Advanced Course in Special Education from the Perspective of Inclusive Education.
According to UEMA, there are more than 4 thousand vacancies for teachers in the public basic education network, without direct competition between candidates.
The main objective of this initiative is to promote quality training, aligned with national inclusive education policies.
According to UEMA, the course also aims to meet the growing demands for training in the area, a reflection of social and educational transformations that require pedagogical practices more adapted to the diversity of students.
Course structure and workload
The course is divided into four modules, totaling 120 hours.
The objective is to prepare participants to deal with the demands of inclusive education, promoting learning that respects the diversity and uniqueness of each student.
Classes will be taught in a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), combining synchronous and asynchronous activities.
The modules offered are:
- Human rights, diversity and inclusive education (30 hours);
- Human development, teaching and learning from the perspective of inclusive education (30 hours);
- Inclusive curriculum, technologies and pedagogical practices (30 hours);
- Inclusive teaching practices, resources and materials at school (30 hours).
Each module addresses fundamental themes for building an inclusive and effective pedagogical practice.
In addition, participants will have access to high-quality teaching materials and interactive activities that simulate real school situations.
Who can participate?
O course is aimed at teachers of the public basic education network, including those who teach in the initial and final years of elementary school and in secondary school.
To register, you must be working in the public network and present the required documents as proof.
According to the notice, the target audience was defined considering the specific demands of the educational sector.
Teachers who work directly in the classroom will be able to apply the knowledge acquired, benefiting their students and promoting a more equitable education.
Selection Criteria
Places will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis until the limit of 4.266 participants is reached. Additional registrations will form a waiting list.
If there is a tie for the same time, minute and second of registration, priority will be given to the oldest candidate, in accordance with current legislation.

Deadlines and disclosure of results
Provisional results will be released on 30 January 2025. After this date, candidates will have until February 7, 2025 to file appeals if necessary.
The final result will be available on the day February 7, 2025.
