The Languages for the Community Project (Licom/Plic), linked to the Institute of Letters (ILE) at the State University of Uerj has opened registrations for free language courses. The initiative offers introductory courses in German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Biblical Greek, and Latin. Classes will start in March and will take place on the 11th floor of the ILE at the Maracanã campus.
The Licom/Plic has as its main objective to promote learning of modern foreign languages at a basic level, serving the general community. The project includes modules for improvement and updates in Portuguese Language. A distinctive feature is the offering of courses in Biblical Greek and Latin, courses for specific purposes, such as academic studies or professional activities that require these skills.
Lottery Process and Result Announcement
To ensure democratic access to the spots, a lottery will be held on January 30th at 11:30 AM. The results, containing a list of winners and the candidates who will make up the waiting list, will be available on the official Licom website and also on the Licom/Plic secretary’s bulletin board. The announcement is scheduled for February 3rd, starting at 4 PM.
