Free English, Spanish, and French Courses, Guaranteed Certificate and No Age Limit Offered by Seduc
The State Department of Education (Seduc) has opened registrations for free language courses. There are 575 spots available for English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Brazilian Sign Language (Libras). The spots are for 12 centers across several cities, including Maceió and Arapiraca. There are 350 spots for English, 200 for Spanish, 25 for French, 25 for Portuguese, and 25 for Libras.
Students currently enrolled or graduates from the state network, as well as staff and parents of students, can register. This initiative aims to expand access to learning new languages, facilitating inclusion and the educational growth of the school community.
The pre-registration results will be announced on July 1st. From July 2nd to July 5th, enrollment must be confirmed in person with the delivery of documents. Classes begin on July 8th. There are six hours of classes per week, divided into four hours in person and two online. This allows for a balanced combination of in-person and remote teaching, providing flexibility to students.

In Maceió, the Maria José de Araújo Costa Language Center at Tavares Bastos State School offers 25 spots for Spanish and 25 for English. At the Professora Noêmia Gama Ramalho Language Center, at CEPA, there are 150 spots available across English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Libras. This expands the options for those interested in studying different languages.
In Arapiraca, the Professora Jacinta de Fátima Matos Gomes State Language Center at Professor Pedro de França Reis State School offers 25 spots for English and 25 for Spanish. This distribution also applies to Rio Largo, Palmeira dos Índios, Santana do Ipanema, São José da Tapera, Delmiro Gouveia, União dos Palmares, Penedo, and Porto Calvo. In Rio Largo, the Professor Djalma Eudes da Silva Language Center at Claudizete Lima Eleutério State School has 50 spots, equally divided between English and Spanish. In Palmeira dos Índios, the Professora Mércia Ribeiro Lima State Language Center at Humberto Mendes State School follows the same distribution. This structure ensures that as many people as possible have access to the courses.
Santana do Ipanema has the Espedita Tavares Pereira State Language Center at Padre Francisco Correia State School, offering 50 spots equally divided between English and Spanish. In São José da Tapera, the Monsenhor Rosevaldo Caldeira de Souza State Language Center at Lucilo José Ribeiro State School also offers the same number of spots. This maintains a balanced distribution between the cities.
Delmiro Gouveia houses the Luiz Augusto de Azevedo Menezes State Language Center at Luiz Augusto de Azevedo Menezes State School, with 25 spots for English and 25 for Spanish. In São Miguel dos Campos, the Edleuza Oliveira da Silva Language Center at Edleuza Oliveira da Silva State School offers 25 spots for English. Thus, residents of these cities also have access to learning new languages.
União dos Palmares offers 50 spots at the Genilda Maria dos Santos State Language Center at Dr. Paulo de Castro Sarmento State School, divided between English and Spanish. Penedo also has 50 spots at the Professora Tânia Maria Melo State Language Center, located at the 9th Special Education Management (GEE). This way, the course offerings are widely distributed across the state.
Finally, in Porto Calvo, the Guedes de Miranda State Language Center at Guedes de Miranda State School offers 25 spots for English and 25 for Spanish.
