The return moved the worker’s family, who described the gesture as an “example of honesty”.
Public Servant saw money flying down the street
Jovânio was driving to work when he noticed an unusual scene on the street.
Initially, he thought they were just papers carried by the wind.
Looking again in the rearview mirror, he realized there were banknotes scattered along the road.
He then slowed down, stopped the vehicle, and began collecting the bills.
Soon after, he also found personal documents mixed with the money.
From the National Driver’s License, the CNH, Jovânio was able to identify the owner’s name.
Mobilization in WhatsApp groups helped in the search
After collecting the money and documents, the public servant began a search for the wallet’s owner.
To do this, he shared messages in WhatsApp groups and counted on the help of residents.
The posts quickly spread throughout the city.
About five hours later, João was located and received the wallet back.
The worker stated that he was relieved to know that his documents and money had been found.
“When I received the news, I felt more relieved”, João reported.
Family saw gesture as an example of honesty
The family of the rural worker highlighted that the server’s attitude went beyond returning the money.
“Example of honesty. It showed that there are still honest people in this world”, he stated.
João said he tried to thank Jovânio with a reward.
The server, however, refused the offered amount.
The refusal moved the rural worker even more.
“I tried to give a reward, but he did not accept”, said João.
Immediately after, he stated that he was deeply touched by the attitude.
“Then I was even more moved that God had put such a good and honest person in my path”, he concluded.
Case reinforces the impact of a simple attitude
The return of the wallet gained attention precisely because of the combination of honesty, solidarity, and community mobilization.
The episode showed how a quick action helped João recover personal documents and the money received for work.
The story also drew attention because the server not only found the wallet but also mobilized to locate the owner.
Thus, the case in Diorama became an example of how a correct attitude can alleviate a family’s despair.
In situations like this, how many stories could still end differently if more people chose to act with the same honesty?
