Aiming To Provide Job Opportunities For People Over 50 Years Old, Assaí Atacadista Named The New Project 50+ And Plans To Reach The Senior Public
According to the website Exame.com, today, approximately 6% of all employees at Assaí Atacadista are over 50 years old, which represents more than 4,000 people with active jobs. Among these, 250 people were placed in job positions only in 2021, to work in stores.
This new job vacancy project is part of the actions announced by the company during the 6th Diversity Week, which included a series of practices to promote the inclusion of more experienced individuals, aligned with Assaí’s Diversity Program, which focuses on five priority themes: race, LGBTQIA+, gender, people with disabilities, and generations.
“Professionals over 50 bring attributes that significantly benefit the company, such as market experience, agility in problem-solving, and a tendency to share their knowledge more with their colleagues – in addition to behavioral qualities – they are resilient, committed, and seek to build a career and develop within the business”, states Sandra Vicari, Director of People Management and Sustainability at Assaí Atacadista.

Operation of Assaí’s Job Vacancy Program
The 50+ Program will be available throughout the year, with selection processes occurring throughout 2023.
Job vacancies are open for all levels and areas of the company, in over 240 operational stores, as well as the 11 distribution centers and offices across Brazil, which also includes the formation of teams for approximately 58 new stores that will open by the end of this year, 2022.
Among the training measures, there are specific courses within the Assaí University, a platform for corporate education exclusive to the internal team, which has five training schools: Wholesale, Leadership, Operations, Commercial, and Technical and Behavioral Development.
