The company RioCard Mais recently announced an important change in public transportation in Rio de Janeiro.

The new Jaé card will be the only one accepted throughout the municipal transportation network starting August 2, 2025.

Additionally, the company warns users to be aware of the final deadline for using the old card.

Procedure to Request the Refund

First, the refund can be requested through online service via video call, directly on the official website of the card operator.

Furthermore, there is the option to visit any physical RioCard Mais store scattered throughout the city.

In both cases, it is necessary to present personal documents, such as ID and CPF, along with banking details for the deposit.

If the card is of the fare-transport type, the company must also present a declaration authorizing the return of the remaining balance.

It is necessary to present these documents so that the company can properly validate the refund process.

Deadlines and Refund Amount

You can request the refund for free, without any charges or additional fees.

The company will return the amount directly to the bank account that the user provided during the service.

According to RioCard Mais, the average deadline for the deposit is 10 to 15 business days after sending the documentation.

This process is valid only for cards that still have available balance and are in the name of the requester.

Therefore, it is essential that the holder’s information is updated in the system to avoid issues with receiving the amount.

As officially announced, the balance stored in RioCard Mais cannot be automatically transferred to the new Jaé card.

According to BandNews and other outlets such as Diário do Rio and Portal Tela, the process is free and guaranteed to the cardholder.

RioCard Mais emphasizes that only those who request the refund within the stipulated time will be entitled to the amount.

The company also informs that the use of the old card will end on September 2, 2025, and recommends paying attention to the final deadline.

After this date, only the Jaé will be accepted as a form of payment in the municipal public transportation of Rio de Janeiro.

Será q márido da beneficiária poderá e na rio card e fazer o transmite de recebimento do dinheiro devolutivo por ela, caso contrário o beneficiado vai ter q faltar um dia de trabalho pra resolver essa questão
