This strategy was formalized during the Capital Market Day, with the division’s president, Luca de Melo, revealing ambitious plans for the future.

The new Ampere division will have 11,000 employees, mainly in the engineering department, and plans to develop and produce up to 400,000 cars per year between 2024 and 2027, with the expectation of increasing to 620,000 electric vehicles by 2028.
Renault’s strategy is to launch models with prices equivalent to combustion cars, aiming to democratize the electric car market. To achieve this goal, the company intends to invest in the AmpR Small platform for B-segment cars, and in the AmpR Medium, aimed at C-segment models.
