The Gas For The People Program Begins The Registration Of LPG Resellers Across Brazil, Allowing Registration Via Caixa And Offering Free Refills For Millions Of Families In Vulnerable Situations

The LPG resellers (liquefied petroleum gas) across the country can now register for the Gas For The People Program, which began its registration phase on October 23, according to a report published.

The initiative, coordinated by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) and the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family, and Hunger Combat (MDS), represents a milestone for public policy on access to cooking gas in Brazil.

The program guarantees free refills of 13-kilogram cylinders for over 15 million families registered in the Cadastro Único (CadÚnico), benefiting approximately 50 million people.

The amount received by each LPG reseller will correspond to the reference price of cooking gas defined for each state, according to the Inter-ministerial Ordinance MME-MF No. 2/2025.

This calculation is based on official data from the MME and the Ministry of Finance, ensuring balance and transparency in the transfers.

The measure reinforces the State’s commitment to sustainable and socially responsible policies, benefiting both sector entrepreneurs and the families served.

With the incorporation of LPG resellers, the federal government consolidates a service network that integrates innovation, social responsibility, and operational efficiency.

Caixa Econômica Federal acts as the financial manager of the program, centralizing the payment of refills and ensuring that each transaction is verified and validated digitally.

This institutional partnership strengthens the credibility of the initiative and expands the reach of the benefit, which is expected to reach 100% of Brazilian municipalities by the end of 2025.

The opening of the business current account and the use of Caixa’s digital tools are offered at no cost, encouraging the participation of small businesses in the sector.

Additionally, the program stimulates the formalization of resellers, increases the economic circulation in communities, and contributes to the generation of direct and indirect jobs.

Thus, The Gas For The People consolidates itself as a strategic pillar of social and energy development policies in the country.
