The mining company, a joint venture owned by Vale and BHP, said in a statement that the ship is bound for Europe and will leave the Port of Ubu this Monday.
Evair de Melo, a federal deputy, spoke about the great expectation in the face of what this resumption represents for Espírito Santo: “It was a long road to get here, long were the learnings, as I always said, life that goes on”, declared the parliamentarian who accompanied the docking of the ship.

Samarco generated around 20 thousand direct and indirect jobs, responsible for 5% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Espírito Santo. With the gradual return of its activities, it is estimated that 6 thousand jobs will be generated. This will represent 1,7% of the GDP of the state of Espírito Santo.
