Million-Dollar Agreement Emphasizes Biodiesel Production from Used Cooking Oil for 2023.
Commitment to the Future
Banco Santander Brazil, aligned with current environmental needs, reaffirms its position by allocating a robust financing of R$ 90 million to Be8, a central figure in the biodiesel market. This investment marks the bank’s third contribution to the company, raising the total amount to an impressive R$ 190 million since last year.
Recycled Oil: The Green Revolution
The uniqueness of this investment lies in a clause that mandates the use of at least 20,000 tons of used cooking oil in the production of biodiesel in 2023. This figure is 48% higher than that recorded in 2022. The use of recycled oil not only promotes an ecological approach but also minimizes pollutant emissions, presenting itself as a more sustainable alternative to traditional diesel.
Pioneering in Sustainability
Historically, Banco Santander has been a pioneer in financing aimed at sustainable goals in Brazilian territory. The bank’s primary objective is to encourage its clients to adapt to a less polluting economic landscape, supporting projects with a positive impact, especially those linked to the biofuels sector.

Be8: Vanguard and Innovation

With a prominent presence both nationally and internationally, the company maintains a steady pace of innovation and growth. Its latest project, the plant in Passo Fundo, promises to be the main hub for large-scale ethanol in Rio Grande do Sul.
On the international stage, Be8 strengthens its position with tactical movements in the European and South American markets through planned acquisitions and groundbreaking initiatives. The company’s mission is clear: to be a reference in renewable energy, paving the way for a cleaner and more sustainable future.
