The Scene Took Place In Romania, In 2023
The episode occurred in the city of Brașov, Romania, in 2023. The elderly man Vasile, 74, was the protagonist of this story that crossed continents and gained attention on Brazilian social media.
It all began when he was driving his Dacia, a vehicle that had been with him for over three decades, and was unexpectedly approached.
The encounter took place on the streets of Brașov. A 38-year-old man, passionate about classic cars and owner of a collection, saw the Dacia in traffic and signaled for the elderly man to pull over.
Curious and interested, the young man introduced himself and expressed his desire to buy the car.
The First Contact And The Difficult Decision
Vasile, surprised by the request, initially refused the offer. “Wait, sir, I have a family, we are in consultation, I can’t respond so quickly. And it’s not for sale. I hadn’t thought about selling“, the elderly man explained.
However, after talking, the young man showed his collection of classic cars.
Seeing the care and passion of the collector, Vasile began to consider selling, thinking about the future of the vehicle he loved so much.
More Than A Car: A Life Story
For 34 years, the Dacia was much more than just a means of transportation for the couple.
Vasile worked for 30 years as an engineer and always had a comfortable retirement.
Contrary to what the videos on social media say, the sale was not motivated by financial difficulties, but rather by the desire to ensure that the car would continue to be well cared for.
“I don’t regret it, but I was emotionally devastated. The car was with our son. The car was our soul, it was ours“, Vasile confided.
The Dacia took the family to various places in Romania, never showing problems or accidents. “It took us almost all over the country, to every place. I traveled almost the entire country with it and didn’t have a single scratch“, he added.
An Unexpected Birthday Gift
The formalization of the sale took place on a symbolic date. “It was a big surprise for Mr. Vasile to call me exactly on my birthday to handle the paperwork. I couldn’t believe itr”, reported the new owner.
The young collector took Vasile for rides in the city in the very car. Whenever he feels nostalgic, the elderly man can visit him.
The Video Went Viral On Social Media And Moved The World
The farewell video was posted on the TikTok account “Norocelalexebuzdu” and quickly went viral. In just two days, it garnered almost 4 million views, over 270 thousand likes, and 28 thousand shares.
