Besides Siemens, Total, and Mitsui, the Hub in Ceará Has 11 Signed Memorandums
A total of 11 memorandums have already been signed, all focused on green hydrogen projects in Ceará, which will be produced from sustainable energy. According to Maia Júnior, Secretary of Economic Development of Ceará, the water used to ensure the operation of the projects, which have Siemens, Total, and Mitsui as interested parties, will come from desalination, and he also stated that given the large volume of investments projected for the green hydrogen plants, the investment in desalination plants will be very small.
Maia states that the estimate is for the project to be ready in Ceará in 10 to 15 years. Besides Siemens, Total, and Mitsui, British Petroleum (BP), which is basically a Petrobras of the United Kingdom, has already expressed interest in not only producing Green Hydrogen but also investing in the Pecém Complex, a significant oil and gas project.

Green Hydrogen Produced in Ceará Will Be Transferred to Europe
In the opinion of the Secretary, the partnership between the Port of Rotterdam and the Port of Pecém in 2017 was the gateway that allowed the construction of the Green Hydrogen Hub in Ceará, and he also emphasizes that the largest port in Europe will receive the green hydrogen produced in Ceará.
Maia highlights that many countries are now moving towards the production of the energy of the future, which is green hydrogen, but in an environmentally sustainable way, using renewable energies in its production, such as wind and solar energy, which are privileged sources in Ceará for the creation of the H2V Hub, which has the support of Siemens, Total, and Mitsui.
