The Simak Rent, company recently launched by the Manser group, to operate in the heavy equipment rental market, announces an investment of R$ 35 million for the construction of its headquarters in Contagem, Minas Gerais.
The new unit, located in the industrial center of the municipality of Minas Gerais, will house the company’s administrative headquarters, the operational intelligence center – that monitors and tracks the performance of the equipment, the maintenance center for rented equipment, reserve and resale stock area for the company’s assets. Construction is expected to start in this second semester. The administrative area should be delivered by the end of this year and the operational area, in May 2024.
The Simak was created in March of this year by the Manserv group, leader in the Brazilian market for industrial maintenance services, building maintenance and intralogistics. The new company specializes in the rental of heavy machinery, focusing on trucks, yellow line equipment (construction and materials handling) and green line (dedicated to agribusiness activities).
With an area of 22,000 m², the headquarters of Simak is located close to the ecosystem formed by the main suppliers of machinery and trucks rented, in addition to easy access to the main national roads, facilitating the logistics of the equipment. The unit will have 20 boxes for maintenance activities, with a capacity to service 40 to 50 machines per month. The yard will also accommodate 200 to 300 machines for reserve and commercial.
Simak has a fleet of 1,500 machines for rental. Among the sectors served by the company are mining, fertilizers, chemical, petrochemical, steel, metallurgy, energy and paper and pulp.
In total, Simak plans R$ 400 million in investments this year. Of this amount, R$ 240 million have already been invested in the new company and R$ 160 million will be allocated to the business by the end of the year.
The investment in the new headquarters is expected to generate 200 jobs in the Contagem region. “We will hire staff to work in the administrative and support and maintenance areas of the equipment,” informs Anderson Antonio de Abreu, CEO of the company.
