Enersim Group and Oeste Solar invest R$ 300 million in solar energy, adding 65 MW to capacity in MT and creating 400 jobs.

The year 2024 marks a pivotal point in the transformation of the mining towards a sustainable future. There is no shortage of reasons for optimism: the huge investment of R $ million 300 by the Enersim Group and Oeste Solar in solar energy is revolutionizing the state of Mato Grosso. Additionally, the significant boost of 65 MW in energy capacity will generate 400 new jobs, a milestone in a global context that calls for solutions in the field of renewable energy. This initiative turns the industry's attention to the viability and importance of clean energy.

The influence of photovoltaic solar energy on the mining sector is palpable, and the extractive industry needs to adapt to new sustainable energy practices. In an environment where environmental responsibility is no longer optional, but mandatory, mineral exploration is in the spotlight for adopting green technologies. Reducing the carbon footprint while maximizing energy efficiency is more than a challenge: it is a necessity. The solutions adopted in Mato Grosso will serve as an example for Brazil and the world on how to integrate sustainability and profitability in this traditionally energy-intensive sector.

Mining and Sustainability on the Rise

Since January 2024, efforts focused on developing solar power plants in Mato Grosso have proven to be not only a triumph for the environment, but also for the local economy. According to experts interviewed by the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo, this initiative represents a strategic shift in the national energy market. Envisioning a future where mining operates in an environmentally responsible manner has become a more tangible reality, where renewable energy is a cornerstone.

March 15, 2024, marked a milestone when the first solar panels were installed. At the same time, planners and engineers are already envisioning expansion and anticipate doubling the share of renewable energy in the state’s energy mix within five years. This is a testament to the strong vision for a sustainable future that is shaping operational practices in different parts of the country.

Sources such as Jornal do Brasil and Revista Mineração explain that the demand for leaders specialized in ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) and digitalization is growing rapidly. This transition reflects the synergy between economic development and environmental responsibility, underlining the importance of technological innovations in the modern landscape of mining.

Expansion of Solar Energy in Mato Grosso

According to Tiago Vianna, director of the group, the city of Cuiabá stood out by receiving the installation of eight solar plants, which together increased the power generation capacity solar in 40 megawatts (MW) in the region, including the important Cangas District. In addition to Cuiabá, other cities such as Matupá, Nova Ubiratã and Boa Esperança do Norte also benefited from these solar energy projects. In Matupá, a solar plant with a capacity of 10 MW was installed, while Nova Ubiratã and Boa Esperança do Norte received plants of 5 MW each, which are considered large plants in terms of energy generation capacity.

Commercialization and Economic Impact

The solar energy produced is being made available both in Free Contracting Environment (ACL) as in Regulated Contracting Environment, which expands the marketing options for this clean energy. These investments in solar energy not only boost the local economy but have also generated more than 300 direct jobs and 100 indirect in the state of Mato Grosso, with ambitious plans to expand to other regions of Brazil. Vianna highlights that we are producing clean energy, which supplies homes, businesses and companies of various sizes, contributing significantly to the stability of the electrical network.

Solar Energy: The Sustainable Future

More than just a source of energy, solar energy is a form of renewable energy which is silent and inexhaustible, offering a sustainable future for everyone. Oeste Solar is a company that stands out for its customer service, obtaining the prestigious ABSOLAR Certificate – AAA level in the Installers and Operators category. This recognition reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to the safety, performance and satisfaction of electricity consumers.

Shared Energy and Cost Reduction

Enersim, a leader in the state of Mato Grosso and the third largest in Brazil in the sector, brings its expertise in shared energy management, covering photovoltaic sources, hydroelectric and thermoelectric. Enersim currently serves more than 13 thousand members, offering renewable energy solutions with no membership, maintenance or loyalty costs. This provides real savings for consumers, without additional fees ou tariff flags, allowing customers to save up to 20% on their electricity bills. A customer who usually spends R$2.000 per month can save around R$400 per year.

Projection for New Regions

Thus, the group's solar energy projects reaffirm its commitment to bringing clean and affordable energy to more locations, generating a positive impact on the economy and promoting a sustainable future. With this vision, solar energy remains the main focus, promising to revolutionize the way we consume renewable energy in the country.
