Full Hybrid SUV Marks A New Phase For Renault In Brazil With A More Sophisticated Proposal, Increased Range And A Comprehensive Technology Package To Face Chinese Rivals In The Mid And Large Electrified SUV Segment.
Renault has confirmed that the Koleos Full Hybrid E-Tech will arrive in Brazil in the first half of 2026, in a single Esprit Alpine version, as the new flagship of the brand in the country, focusing on electrification and a comprehensive technology package.
With the debut of the model, the manufacturer will have an SUV above the Boreal in the national lineup, in a price range that is not yet official but estimated between R$ 220,000 and R$ 300,000 for vehicles in the same segment.
The strategy directly targets hybrid utilities that have gained scale in Brazil, such as GWM Haval H6 and BYD Song Plus, in addition to other options of Chinese origin that compete for consumers interested in efficiency and level of equipment.

Larger than the Toyota Hilux and with a range of 71.9 km/l, the new Jetour F700 PHEV emerges with 1,631 hp, four electric motors, charging from 20% to 80% in 10 minutes, and a size close to the Ram 1500.
This move aligns with the global International Game Plan 2024–2027, mentioned by Renault as guidance to expand its presence in markets outside Europe with more sophisticated vehicles of higher added value, including Latin America.
CMA Platform And Dimensions Of The Renault Koleos 2026

Instead of using an architecture common to the brand’s compact products, the Koleos adopts the CMA platform, linked to Geely’s ecosystem and known for serving as a base for models like the Volvo XC40 in other industrial applications.
The dimensions reinforce the family-oriented and higher-category proposal: it measures 4.77 meters in length, 1.89 meters in width, and 1.69 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.84 meters to prioritize internal space.
By opting for an exclusive five-seat configuration, Renault promises a trunk of 545 liters, a number that positions the SUV among the most capable in the segment regarding everyday luggage capacity.
E-Tech Hybrid Engine With 245 Hp And All-Wheel Drive

In the mechanical set, the full hybrid E-Tech system combines a 1.5 turbo gasoline engine with two electric motors, with a 1.64 kWh battery, to achieve 245 hp and 32.6 kgfm of combined torque.
The powertrain logic prioritizes electric operation in various situations, while the combustion engine can act as a generator to power the battery, engaging more directly in traction according to usage demand.
When necessary, the system engages all-wheel drive via the electric motor on the rear axle, a strategy described in external markets as a way to balance efficiency and performance, especially in accelerations and low-grip surfaces.
In addition to Eco, Comfort, Sport, and Snow modes, Renault reports an intelligent mode with automatic adjustments based on usage parameters, altering the car’s responses to match consumption and dynamic behavior during different paths.
In materials released outside Brazil, the brand mentions a range exceeding 1,000 km with a full tank, but has not yet published consumption or range homologated by Brazilian authorities, which is usually the data adopted in local comparisons.

Technological Interior And Esprit Alpine Version
Inside, the dashboard features two 12.3-inch screens, one for digital instruments and the other for multimedia, while a third screen facing the passenger appears in some markets but is likely to be disabled here.
The head-up display completes the driver’s area, and the Esprit Alpine proposal adds specific finishing details, with materials like Alcantara, as well as colored stitching and patterns that differentiate the top-of-the-line version.
In the front seats, the announced configuration includes heating, ventilation, and electric adjustments, with memory for the driver, while the second row features air vents, USB-C ports, and reclining backs to enhance comfort.
In terms of equipment, the package includes Bose sound, induction charging, 360-degree cameras, and active noise cancellation, items that reinforce the positioning above the brand’s traditional SUVs and bring the model closer to electrified rivals.

Driving Assistances And Investment Plan In Brazil
In terms of active safety, the Koleos can offer up to 29 driving assistances, including adaptive cruise control, lane centering, autonomous emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert.
Renault indicates that the SUV will initially be imported, while the partnership with Geely in Brazil foresees investments of R$ 3.8 billion for the production of electrified models and the adoption of the GEA platform starting in 2026.
Reports and statements about the joint venture mention the manufacture of vehicles based on Geely models in the industrial complex of Paraná, with production planned to begin in the second half of 2026, in line with local expansion.
With prices still under wraps and competition concentrated on well-equipped hybrid SUVs, what will weigh more in the Brazilian consumer’s decision: the promise of a range above 1,000 km, the assistance package, or the perceived value compared to Chinese competitors?
