At the MS plant, there are three other ethanol reservoirs, and after the incident, they were cooled to avoid further possible explosions at the plant. The plant of the Biosev business group is isolated, and all employees have been released.
Official Statement from the Biosev Group
Biosev informs that an ethanol tank at the Passa Tempo Unit (MS) caught fire on Tuesday, the 17th. The company clarifies that as soon as it identified the incident, it activated the emergency protocol to ensure the safety of all employees. The site was evacuated, the Fire Brigade and Fire Department were called, and they are on-site to control the flames and cool the area. The company reiterates that it constantly invests in the safety of its processes and works on risk prevention and mitigation. Thus, it clarifies that it will cooperate with the competent authorities in investigating and identifying the causes of the fire and will provide all necessary clarifications.
