The Parnaíba complex is one of the largest gas-fired thermal power plants in the country and is a pioneer in the integrated Reservoir-to-wire model. The complex consists of the Parnaíba I, II, III, IV, V, and VI power plants, which utilize gas generated from fields near the park.
Located in the city of Antônio Lopes (MA), the Parnaíba V thermal power plant and the other units have 1.9GW of contracted power, with 1.4 GW of that total already in operation. All the energy produced by the Parnaíba V thermal power plant is sent to the National Interconnected System (SIN), in the North subsystem.
