The Brazil Social Progress Index 2026 shows significant differences between Brazilian states when evaluating social and environmental dimensions in the country’s 5,570 municipalities. Released this Wednesday, May 20, 2026, the survey uses 57 indicators to measure the performance of federative units and point out where the best and worst results are.
In the state ranking, the Federal District appears in the lead, with 70.73 points. Next are São Paulo, with 67.96, and Santa Catarina, with 65.58. These three states concentrate the highest scores in the country and represent the best average performances in the IPS Brazil 2026.
