Tender for Total's PLSV
Total's bidding near the end

Result of the French Total Bid should come out in May, vessel will be the seventeenth of this type, to operate in Brazilian waters

The tender for contracting a PLSV for the Lapa field, promoted by Total, is close to an end.
In May the market will know who will be the winner, but as already announced by Click Petróleo e Gás here on our portal, Technip was announced today (09/04) as the winner to supply the flexible lines.

The PLSV will operate in the Lapa field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt, for a period of about one year and Total would be finishing the analysis of the offers it received in November last year.
In mid-January, Total asked offshore service providers to submit new commercial prices for this tender, which ended up delaying the process a little.

The Lapa field was acquired by Total from Petrobras in January 2018 for US$1,95 billion. As the majority shareholder in the company, as it owns 35%, Total operates the field, and is partnered by Repsol-Sinopec, with 25%, and Petrobras with 10%.

FPSO Cidade de Caraguatatuba is responsible for extracting the oil, which was integrated into Brasfels and belongs to Moedc and has the capacity to produce 120 bopd and process 5 million m³/d of natural gas.
The Lapa field, according to ANP data, produced 29,7 boed in February, of which 23,8 boed and 934 m³/d of natural gas, ranking fifth in production in Brazil, behind Lula, Sapinhoá , Humpback, Búzios and Mero.

This type of vessel is used to launch flexible submarine lines and, as we mentioned above, Technip won the contract with Total to supply gas lift and gas injection tubes, in addition to associated accessories for the Lapa field.
Technip rated the signing of the contract as "significant", which is where contracts between $75 million and $250 million fit in.

According to a survey by Abeam (Brazilian Association of Maritime Support Companies), there are 16 PLSVs operating in Brazilian waters, six operated by Sapura; six by DOF/Norskan and four by Subsea 7.

Two other vessels, Top Coral do Atlântico and Top Estrela do Mar, are classified by Abeam as MPSVs (multipurpose vessels) despite having been contracted by Petrobras as PLSVs.

DOF Subsea orders three ROVs for operations in Brazil under recently signed contracts! Access here and find out the details of this new contract!
