The Multinational Toyota Will Present Electrified Models Such As; Hybrid Flex, Plug-In Hybrid, Electric Vehicles, and Fuel Cell
According to a press release from Toyota Brazil, the Japanese company will showcase electrification technology solutions at the 17th Generation, Latin American Electric Vehicle event, which will take place from September 1 to 3 at the São Paulo Expo in São Paulo (SP). The event marks the Brazilian public debut of the Mirai, the first hydrogen fuel cell sedan. The exhibition group is complemented by one of the world’s first hybrids (HEV FFV), the Corolla Cross, the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) with the Prius, and the Lexus UX300e (BEV), a vehicle powered 100% by electric battery.
This brand is a leader in sales of this type of vehicle worldwide. Toyota has achieved the milestone of 20 million units sold of electrified vehicles since 1997. Not only the electric vehicles, these vehicles have promoted an approximate reduction of 160 million tons of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere, says Toyota.
The Manufacturer Also Participates in Three Panels of the Mobility and Electric Vehicles Congress, C-Move.
The manufacturer is also present in three panels of the Mobility and Electric Vehicles Congress, C-Move, since the first day of the event. In the first panel, titled ‘Automobile Manufacturers’, the Toyota government affairs executive, Thiago Sugahara, participates in the session. Hélio Mursa, commercial manager of KINTO, Toyota’s mobility company, joins the Fleet Electrification panel.

About the Technologies Presented by Toyota
The brand features the Hybrid Flex (HEV FFV), the Corolla sedan that was responsible for initiating the brand’s electrification strategy. The Brazilian and Japanese engineering companies of Toyota worked together to implement hybrid flex technology. Today, the technology is equipped in the Corolla Sedan and Corolla Cross models. It is also used in the Toyota Prius and Toyota Highlander.
The Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) technology optimizes electrification in vehicles, as they are equipped with a much larger lithium-ion battery than hybrids. This battery allows for 100% electric driving on short trips. It offers 75 km in electric mode, meaning zero emissions. The hybrid car has a top speed of 100 km/h and a maximum range of 75 km/h.
The 100% Electric Vehicle (BEV) models are electric vehicles that have a much simpler mechanics than internal combustion vehicles. They do not require radiators and do not need lubrication. The Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCHEV) like the Toyota Mirai use a mechanism opposite to that of electrolysis – a redox chemical reaction triggered by the passage of electric current. Instead of separating the water molecule, it uses hydrogen.
