The FPSO That Will Operate in Trident Energy’s Poles in the Basin of Campos
According to the epbr website, the FPSO aims to improve the integrity of Trident Energy’s equipment, both topside and subsea, in order to increase reliability in the production process. It will also expand oil production and offloading operations, providing more cost-effectiveness for activities in mature fields. A conversion of an existing double-hulled vessel will be made since the company believes there is no existing FPSO on the market that meets the project’s characteristics.
The Trident Energy FPSO has the following characteristics: Maximum storage capacity of 345,000 m3 of crude oil; Single point Turret mooring system, providing total weather protection capability; Tandem offloading system, including cable and export hose to the shuttle vessel; Power generation system to meet all unit requirements will be based on gas and diesel (Dual Fuel) turbines-generators.

The Basin of Campos Sea Suffers from Oil-Water Leak on the Company’s Platform

Petrobras closed the sale of the Pampo and Enchova poles, located in the Basin of Campos, to Trident Energy in June 2019, marking the company’s debut in Brazil. Trident agreed to pay US$ 1 billion for the fields. The Enchova pole includes the fields of Marimbá, Enchova, Bonito, Enchova Oeste, Bicudo, and Piraúna, while the Pampo pole includes the fields of Pampo, Badejo, Linguado, and Trilha.
Petrobras has been trying to sell the Enchova and Pampo fields in the Basin of Campos for almost a year since the assets entered the company’s divestment list. It is worth noting that Petrobras is divesting in assets, aiming to balance its finances and plans to raise up to 35 billion dollars over a period of five years.
The process of selling these assets has particularly become complex, as it is a mature field that performs best on the divestment list. In July 2018, the assets managed to produce nearly 39,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day together. Trident Energy’s proposal will still require approval from Petrobras’s board of directors. The meeting is scheduled for next week.
