With 236 kg, the Triumph Scrambler 900 2025 Bets Everything on the “HTorker” Engine with 8.16 kgfm to Deliver a “Soulful” Acceleration; See the Review.

The Triumph Scrambler 900 2025 has hit the Brazilian market while maintaining its classic essence, now updated with a new color option (King Fisher Blue), but with the same performance promise that justifies its legacy. The model, detailed in a recent review by the Rodolfinho da Z channel, presents an intriguing technical specification: it weighs 236 kg in running order. A considerable weight that, at first glance, could suggest a slow or unwieldy motorcycle.

However, the secret that nullifies the weight perception lies in its engine, the HTorker engine. With 900 cc and a 270º crankshaft, it delivers 8.16 kgfm of torque almost instantly. In practice, as described by the channel, it is the motorcycle that “accelerates, goes soul”, turning mass into a secondary detail in the face of the brute force available at low and medium revs, defining the unique personality of the model.

What the HTorker Engine Really Means?

The heart of the Triumph Scrambler 900 2025 is the parallel twin engine of 900 cc, SOHC, with liquid cooling and eight valves. The nickname “HTorker” (High Torque) is not just marketing.

It generates 65 horsepower, but the number that defines the experience is the 8.16 kgfm of torque, delivered robustly and linearly. Unlike sport motorcycles focused on high speed, the Scrambler 900 is designed to deliver this power at low and medium rev ranges.

This configuration, aided by the 270º crankshaft (which simulates the pulse and torque delivery of a V-Twin engine), results in an immediate response to the electronic throttle (ride-by-wire). As highlighted in the evaluation by the Rodolfinho da Z channel, the motorcycle “explodes” at stoplights and during acceleration, making the 236 kg feel much lighter.

It’s a feature that pleases those seeking a vigorous ride in the city without needing to stretch the gears.

Weight vs. Riding Dynamics: How Does the Scrambler 900 Handle?

The design of the Triumph Scrambler 900 2025 balances the nostalgia of the round headlight and spoked wheels with the robust personality of the iconic high-mounted dual exhaust, creating an instantly recognizable classic look.
The design of the Triumph Scrambler 900 2025 balances the nostalgia of the round headlight and spoked wheels with the robust personality of the iconic high-mounted dual exhaust, creating an instantly recognizable classic look.

The 236 kg in running order (with fluids and a full 12-liter tank) is mostly felt during low-speed maneuvers or when moving the motorcycle while it’s off. However, the motorcycle’s design seeks to balance this mass.

The center of gravity is relatively low, and the seat, positioned at 79 cm from the ground, allows riders of average height to firmly support their feet, as demonstrated in the test.

In motion, the weight dissipates. The motorcycle uses a steel cradle chassis, 41 mm Kayaba front suspension (non-adjustable), and a twin-shock rear setup, also Kayaba (with preload adjustment), both with 120 mm of travel.

The Rodolfinho da Z channel notes that, despite the mass, the motorcycle is “easy to handle” and responsive in curves, with riding dynamics that inspire confidence, aided by the wide handlebars that make leverage easier.

Embedded Technology and Points of Attention

The Triumph Scrambler 900 2025 is not a “bare-bones” motorcycle in terms of electronics. It comes equipped with three riding modes (Road, Rain, Off-Road), traction control (which can be turned off with the motorcycle stopped) and ABS brakes (with an option to turn off the rear in Off-Road mode).

Highlight for the slipper clutch, which makes the lever action light and prevents the rear wheel from locking up during abrupt downshifts. The dashboard combines an analog speedometer with an LCD display, and there’s a USB port under the seat.

The review by the Rodolfinho da Z channel also raises critical points. The main one is the engine temperature, which “gets too hot” in urban traffic, a noticeable discomfort on hot days. The famous high side-exhaust, while being the charm of the motorcycle, is not the main culprit of the heat, which radiates directly from the engine to the rider’s legs.

Another negative point characteristic of the 900cc classics from the brand is the five-speed gearbox. Although the torque compensates in the city, on highways, “a sixth gear is missed” to reduce engine RPM, consumption, and vibration on longer trips.

Furthermore, the channel warns of reports of electrical problems in the Triumph classic family, supposedly linked to wear of the harness that passes near the steering head, causing long-term failures.

Price, Consumption, and Evolution: Is It Worth It in 2025?

YouTube Video

The current model is the third generation, which in 2021 dropped the “Street” name (used from 2017 to 2022) and received a power boost, going from 55 hp to the 65 hp it has now. The Triumph Scrambler 900 2025 has a suggested retail price of R$ 57,690 (new). For comparison, the FIPE Table value for a used model (like the one tested in the video) is around R$ 50,600.

Fuel consumption directly reflects the use of torque: riding economically, the motorcycle can achieve between 16 and 20 km/l. If the rider accelerates vigorously, the consumption drops to around 12 to 15 km/l. The top speed, according to the test, is electronically limited to around 170 km/h, a mark the motorcycle reaches quickly (hitting 160 km/h in third gear, according to the video).

Brute Force with Classic Style

The Triumph Scrambler 900 2025 proves that technical specifications can be misleading. Its high weight is real, but it is neutralized by an “HTorker” engine that delivers plenty of torque, validating the impression that the motorcycle “goes soul” with any touch on the throttle. It is a modern classic that requires concessions (the heat and the five-speed gearbox), but in return delivers a robust personality, an iconic look, and surprisingly easy riding dynamics.

The review by the Rodolfinho da Z channel makes it clear what the motorcycle profile is. But how about you, who rides daily? Does all this torque compensate for the heat generated by the engine in urban traffic? And would the lack of a sixth gear on the highway be a decisive factor for you not to buy the motorcycle?
