This is an agreement for the provision of oil transshipment services with Petronas, to operate at the infrastructure company's Port of Açu Terminal.

Vast announced on 18/01 the signing of a new contract with the oil company, which aims to boost both companies in the business oil export to the international market.

With the signing of the contract for oil transshipment operations, Vast becomes Petronas' main logistics partner for the export of fuel in Brazil.

The new business therefore marks an even greater presence of the infrastructure company in the oil customs operations in the region of Porto do Açu, located in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

In addition, it expands the company's customer base in early 2023. Vast is responsible for 30% of Brazilian oil exports and has handled more than 540 million barrels since the beginning of its operations.

Now, with operations at the Port of Açu Terminal with Petronas, it will manage to become even more relevant not only on the national scene, but also internationally.

“This achievement is the direct result of the dedication of our teams and our focus on operational excellence, safety and respect for the environment,” the company said in a statement.

One week after signing the service provision contract, services for oil export at the Port of Açu Terminal, Vast has already started work.

The company announced that last Wednesday it received Petronas at its port terminal to carry out the first fuel transhipment operation in the complex in Rio de Janeiro.

“At the time, the Petronas team had the opportunity to visit our facilities and watch the operation up close, which moved around 1 million barrels between two large ships, one of the VLCC type and a Suezmax”, said the company.

Vast's first oil transport operation with Petronas at the Port of Açu Terminal marks an important step for future projects in 2023.
