Prototype Inspired by the Chinese Lifan Promises to Conquer the Brazilian Market with Competitive Price and Innovative Features
Shineray, known for its affordable and small models, recently announced that it will expand its portfolio with bigger displacement motorcycles in Brazil. Among the new items, a prototype that might be launched later this year stands out, nicknamed “mini-Harley” due to its robust design and touring style, according to Motor1.
Expansion of Shineray in Brazil
In recent years, Shineray has secured the third position in the ranking of best-selling manufacturers in Brazil, trailing only giants like Honda and Yamaha. The success is largely due to the sale of small and economical motorcycles, derived from Chinese models. Now, the company aims for the larger displacement motorcycle market, targeting an audience looking for quality at an affordable price.
New Models and Strategic Partnerships in Brazil
The expansion includes the introduction of the SWM brand for motorcycles up to 400cc and new models from Shineray itself with up to 250cc. Among the confirmed launches is the adventurous SHI 175 and its injected version, the SHI 175s. Additionally, Shineray is eyeing the lower displacement touring motorcycle segment.

Shineray’s CEO, José Edson Medeiros, generated great excitement by posting an image on social media alongside MMA athlete José Aldo, where the new motorcycle can be seen. According to Medeiros, in June, Shineray will celebrate 18 years of operation in Brazil, and the celebration could include the launch of this innovative model. When contacted by Motor1.com Brazil, Shineray confirmed that it is a “prototype of a launch”, without disclosing further details. The official launch is expected to occur in the second half of this year.
Origins and Specifications of the Model
The motorcycle, apparently derived from the Chinese Lifan, may be offered in 150, 200 and 250cc variants, with few changes besides the engine size. Conflicting information on Lifan’s international site and the posted image indicate that the motorcycle has characteristics from different models. For instance, the K19 emblem is used on the 150 and 200cc models, but the motorcycle in the image has a rear disc brake, which is only present on the K29 of 250cc.
