The crew change on an oil platform of the flotel type, involving the use of a helicopter, follows an organized and safe procedure. Here is a detailed description and the video of the process to follow:

Helicopter Landing

The helicopter, carrying the workers who will begin their shifts, approaches the flotel platform and lands safely in the designated area.

Disembarkation of Arriving Workers

Once the helicopter is secure, the workers disembark. They are greeted by the platform crew and receive initial instructions, typically including safety guidelines and information about their accommodations.

Information Handover and Training

There is a meeting between the arriving and departing teams. During this meeting, critical information about the operations of the platform, safety issues, and any recent incidents are shared. Newly arrived workers may also receive specific training necessary for their roles.

Accommodation of Newly Arrived Workers

After the meeting, the arriving workers head to their accommodations to settle in and prepare to start their shifts.

Boarding of Departing Workers on the Helicopter

Meanwhile, the team finishing their shift prepares to leave the platform. They gather at the helipad, bringing their personal belongings, and board the helicopter.

Departure of the Helicopter with the Departing Team

Once all departing workers are on board and secure, the helicopter takes off from the flotel platform, returning to land.

Start of the New Work Shift

With the departing team on their way home and the new team already accommodated and informed, the work shift on the flotel platform begins. The new team takes over the responsibilities for operations, maintenance, and other essential tasks.

This process is crucial for maintaining the continuity and safety of operations on the oil platform. It requires careful coordination and effective communication among all parties involved, ensuring efficiency and safety in the offshore work environment.
