On the next 18th and 19th of October, the VII National Congress of Maritime, Port and Customs Law will take place in the city of São Paulo, which is being organized by the São Paulo section of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB/SP). It is the main thematic event in the country, which has been held annually since 2012.
Since its inception, the Congress has become a reference not only for the area of law, but also for civil society and other institutions in Brazil.

During these two days, 10 panels will be debated on various topics such as maritime accidents, Siscomex Cargo, Normative Resolution 18 of the National Waterway Transport Agency (ANTAQ) and international conventions related to the segment.
Antaq's general director, Mario Povia, the president of the National Federation of Port Operators (Fenop), Sergio Aquino, the attorney of the Navy's Special Attorney's Office (PEM), José Siqueira, the operational advisor of the Pilotage Directorate of São Paulo, Viriato do Nascimento Geraldes, and Fabio Ulhoa Coelho, lawyer and professor of Commercial Law at PUC-SP, are confirmed presences at the event.
According to Luiz Enrique Pereira, president of the Special Commission on Maritime and Port Law of the OAB/SP, the congress will stimulate academic and professional study and debate on current studies of Maritime, Port and Customs Law.
