Electric Car Market May Take A New Turn
Lei Jun is optimistic about entering the intelligent electric car market, along with his closeness to Xpeng Motors, so the false rumors about the development of cars by the Xiaomi Group did not stop.
In December 2020, for example, it was announced that Xiaomi would join BYD to build the “First Car For Young People,” the Qingyue S1, and then the official response was that there are no plans to build a car. Xu Jieyun, the former general manager of Xiaomi’s public relations department, said on social media: “Anything about Xiaomi wanting to build a car is fake news.”
Xiaomi Promises Fast Charging For Electric Cars
Using a direct current charging station, the promise is to charge the battery from 30 to 80% in 1 hour (there is no official data, but it should support a power of around 40 kW). In terms of performance, the car, equipped with rear-wheel drive, reaches a top speed of 100 km/h.
