Bureau Veritas Inspected the Largest Soy Cargo Ever Shipped from Brazilian Ports in the History of the Country
The company verified the shipment of 102,703.85 tons of soybean meal and high-protein soybean meal from the cape size ship Pacific South, one of the largest in the world, at the Port of Paranaguá, Paraná.
To give an idea of the volume of certified grain, if it were to be transported by trucks, 3,400 vehicles would be needed. The importance of the operation can also be measured by comparing it with common soybean meal shipments, which are typically loaded for export on ships of up to 60,000 tons, which is more than 70% higher.
“Bureau Veritas was born almost 200 years ago with the inspection of ships in Europe and since then has become a global reference in the sector due to its solidity, verification quality, and reliability. The Group is also a market leader in Brazil, holding 60% of the soybean meal, soybeans, and corn inspection market in the country, occupying the leadership position in the segment,” emphasizes Claudio Fonseca, Operations Director of the Agri & Food Division.
