Klabin will create around 5 jobs in the new phase of the Puma II Project – the largest private investment in the history of the state, worth R$9,1 billion, in Ortigueira.

The new phase of work on the Puma II Project, in PR, demands most of the hiring in the civil construction area. Klabin is about to start electromechanical assembly (implementation of the manufacturing infrastructure), and many vacancies in the sector are to come. The civil construction phase, together with the electromechanical assembly, is the period that demands the most labor. According to Kablin, the biggest movement will occur between the months of April and August, when around 4 to 5 thousand new jobs are foreseen, by the companies participating in the project.

So far, the Puma II Project has almost 4 workers (hired since July 2019), 51% of whom are from Ortigueira, Telêmaco Borba and Imbaú – in all, 77% of the workers are from Paraná.

The new hires are being made by the Worker's Agencies of ortigueira, Telêmaco Borba and Imbaú – area covered by the factory.

“Companies contracted for construction and industrial assembly are open to establishing partnerships with Worker Agencies, seeking to simplify processes and improve the way vacancies are advertised, so that everyone with employability conditions has the same opportunity for a new job”, says Sales Bueno, People and Management manager for the Puma II Project.

In addition to recruiting agencies in the aforementioned municipalities, a bus must travel through the region to other cities and nearby districts, the Itinerant Worker Agency. “The itinerant bus will go to nearby districts to recruit workers who are unable to travel to a worker's agency”, explains secretary Ney Leprevost.

Sejuf also informed that there is no specific timetable for this process. If vacancies are not filled in the region, Sejuf says it will expand the offer of vacancies to agencies in other cities in the state.
