More than half a million INSS retirees and pensioners have not joined the agreement that guarantees the refund of undue discounts. The final deadline has been set, and those who miss it may stop receiving corrected amounts directly in their accounts.

At least 613,000 INSS retirees and pensioners have not joined the agreement that guarantees the refund of amounts deducted irregularly. These beneficiaries are entitled to full reimbursement, with inflation adjustment, directly into the bank account where they receive their benefits.

The agreement was created to compensate victims of undue discounts made by entities and associations. Those who contested and did not receive a response within 15 business days can join the process to recover their money.

Who Can Participate

The agreement applies to beneficiaries who had discounts between March 2020 and March 2025. Those who have taken legal action may also join, but in that case, they must withdraw the action to receive reimbursement.

So far, more than 1.8 million beneficiaries have already joined. This number represents about 75% of the total people eligible for the agreement.

The expectation is that 99% of participants will receive the undue amount by next Monday, the 18th. Therefore, those who have not yet completed the procedure need to quickly get organized to avoid missing the deadline.

In addition, joining the agreement guarantees that the corrected amount will be refunded without the need for legal action. This makes the process simpler, safer, and more straightforward for the beneficiary.

The INSS’s guidance is for retirees and pensioners to stay alert to the deadlines and confirm their requests to ensure the refund of the money.
