With R$ 100 Million in Investments, Industrial Company Will Generate 800 Direct and Indirect Jobs for Factory Construction in Luís Eduardo Magalhães, Bahia
Good news for Bahia! The municipality of Luís Eduardo Magalhães (BA) will be home to an industrial plant in the textile sector with the construction of a factory by Nova Tecelagem e Fiação Oeste. More than R$ 100 million will be invested in the venture, and it is estimated that around 800 direct and indirect jobs will be created.

The factory will focus on the production of fabric yarn (open-end yarn), with an estimated annual production of up to 36 thousand tons. The construction of the plant is set to begin this September, however, the industrial operation phase is expected to start at the end of next year.

According to Bahia’s Deputy Governor, João Leão, the state is the second-largest producer of fiber in Brazil, and the western region of Bahia has cotton of the highest quality. He adds that investments of this type will further enhance the textile industrial sector in Bahia.
For the president of Nova Tecelagem, Raimundo Delfino, the expectation is to generate 520 direct jobs as outlined in the intention protocol, along with an additional 280 indirect jobs.
According to Delfino, the textile industrial sector has shown significance in that region, and the company is optimistic, as it believes that Brazil will have to grow significantly in the industrial textile area, and Bahia is a determining factor for the Northeast and for the country.
The intention protocol was signed this Monday (31) by the Government of Bahia, through the Secretary of Economic Development (SDE), and the company Nova Tecelagem e Fiação Oeste.
