According to Bahia’s Deputy Governor, João Leão, the state is the second-largest producer of fiber in Brazil, and the western region of Bahia has cotton of the highest quality. He adds that investments of this type will further enhance the textile industrial sector in Bahia.
For the president of Nova Tecelagem, Raimundo Delfino, the expectation is to generate 520 direct jobs as outlined in the intention protocol, along with an additional 280 indirect jobs.
According to Delfino, the textile industrial sector has shown significance in that region, and the company is optimistic, as it believes that Brazil will have to grow significantly in the industrial textile area, and Bahia is a determining factor for the Northeast and for the country.
The intention protocol was signed this Monday (31) by the Government of Bahia, through the Secretary of Economic Development (SDE), and the company Nova Tecelagem e Fiação Oeste.
