Fabio Isaac Bravo Acosta transforms passion for mathematics into world conquest at 9 years old, after a long journey to Singapore, where he represented Peru and won one of the most competitive academic competitions among international young talents
Fabio Isaac Bravo Acosta was only 9 years old when he experienced something many students dream of achieving. The boy, born in Venezuela and residing in Peru since he was young, won the gold medal in the Global Round of the Copernicus Mathematical Olympiad, held in Singapore, after enduring a journey of more than 30 hours and competing with young talents from various countries.
According to information released by infobae, Fabio represented Peru in the international competition and stood out among students from different parts of the world. The tournament brought together participants with high academic performance and tested skills in logical reasoning, mathematical analysis, and solving complex problems.
The achievement drew attention not only for the result but for the story of dedication behind the medal. From an early age, Fabio showed a different relationship with numbers. For him, mathematics ceased to be just a school subject and became a form of fun, discovery, and challenge.

A journey of more than 30 hours before the conquest that changed the young student’s trajectory
Before stepping onto the podium in Singapore, Fabio had to overcome a journey marked by obstacles. The trip from Peru lasted more than 30 hours and included three layovers, passing through Bogotá, France, and Spain before reaching the final destination.
On his social media, the student shared that he faced difficulties during the journey and even thought he might not be able to participate in the competition. Even so, he remained focused on the goal he had built during months of preparation.
During the final stage of the Copernicus Mathematical Olympiad, Fabio competed with representatives from countries recognized for their tradition in academic competitions, including Japan and Russia, which also achieved prominent positions in the tournament.
Despite the pressure and the high level of the competitors, the young boy achieved one of the greatest recognitions of the competition: the gold medal.
Preparation, support, and a routine marked by discipline from a young age
After the result, Fabio made a point of thanking the people who accompanied his preparation. The boy highlighted the support of teachers and collaborators who helped in the development of his mathematical skills.
The achievement in Singapore expanded a trajectory that already included other important results. Previously, Fabio had won a silver medal at the International Mathematics Olympiad in New York, also organized by Copernicus.
This performance paved the way for his qualification in the world stage held in Singapore. During his participation, he carried with him the connection to two countries: Venezuela, where he was born, and Peru, the nation he officially represented in the competition.
In addition, Fabio was part of a Peruvian delegation formed by other students who also had impressive results in the international competition.
Boy considered gifted also accumulates dozens of medals in sports
The story of Fabio Isaac Bravo Acosta goes beyond the classrooms. According to information released about his trajectory, the boy has an IQ of 146, an index associated with people with cognitive abilities far above average.
From an early age, he demonstrated ease in different areas of knowledge. Among his interests were mathematics, the periodic table, world geography, and even learning the English language in a self-taught manner.
Another surprising point is his dedication to sports. Fabio also excels in swimming and has accumulated dozens of medals won in competitions. According to reports, he has amassed 85 gold medals in the sport and maintains an intense training routine.
The young man himself explained that discipline came naturally. According to Fabio, he does not see studies and training as an obligation imposed by the family, but as something that is part of his own goals.
The Copernicus Mathematics Olympiad was founded in 2020, in Houston, Texas, and brings together students from the third year of elementary school to the last year of high school. Currently, the competition receives participants from over 50 countries and seeks to encourage talents in the areas of logic, mathematical reasoning, and academic excellence.
Fabio’s trajectory shows how curiosity, discipline, and educational support can open paths even in childhood. At 9 years old, his international achievement has become an example of dedication for other young people interested in science and knowledge.
