The converter station weighs 22,000 tons and is as tall as a 15-story residential building.
Due to the unit’s weight, China Three Gorges used a floating tow installation method, utilizing the ballast and the natural tides of the ships during the process.
The China Classification Society (CCS) provided authentication and research services for the converter station. The CCS team was involved during the design, construction, transport, installation, and commissioning stages of the project.
The Rudong offshore wind farm comprises three areas: H8 with 300 MW, H6 with 400 MW, and H10 with 400 MW.
In June, China Three Gorges Renewables completed the installation of the 100 single pile foundations in phase H6.
The 100 turbines of 4 MW in H6 are expected to be ordered by the end of 2021.
Once fully commissioned, the 1.1 GW Rudong offshore wind farm will produce 2.4 billion kWh annually, according to China Three Gorges.
New Portable Wind Turbine Priced Like A Cell Phone Generates Power Rain Or Shine, Has A 20-Year Lifespan, And Could Revolutionize Renewable Energy Generation Worldwide
Wind Energy: Designed for urban and rural environments, the new portable turbine priced like a cell phone is powerful and safe for children, pets, wildlife, and birds. The mini wind turbine developed by the Indian startup Avant Garde Innovations can help families in remote areas and also people who want to save money on electricity. The new power generator has a low cost, a lifespan of 20 years, and could revolutionize renewable energy generation worldwide!

The turbine created by the startup Avant Garde Innovations has a diameter of 3 meters and is ideal for homes, businesses, and rural areas. The maximum power generation capacity is 5 kW/h, at a wind speed of 5.5m/s, and costs only US$ 899 (or R$ 4,827), less than cell phones like iPhone 12.
The turbine named AVATAR™ generates power day and night, whether it’s raining or sunny. It has low maintenance, generates reliable and clean renewable energy with a 2-year warranty and a 20-year lifespan.
The new turbine can also be installed in a short time in a small area on the ground or on the roof. There is no forecast of when it will be available for commercialization in Brazil.
