“I developed the Striemo based on my desire to allow a larger number of people to experience this fun to create a means of transport that allows anyone to go out more spontaneously. My goal is to make Striemo one of the most used mobility products in people’s daily lives around the world”
Yotara Mori, CEO and Co-founder of Striemo Inc. (2022)
The initiative will shake up the competition, considering the excellence and potential of the vehicles produced by the multinational. In addition, the company is embracing another slice of the market: electric mobility, and investing heavily to take the lead.
The Multinational Honda is Investing in Ideas for Startups in Technology for Electric Mobility and Transportation Solutions
Honda has a program for creating businesses in the technology and mobility sector, called IGNITION. This initiative from the company aims to stimulate new business models based on the original designs of Honda affiliates to create market value for customers. Furthermore, the concept of environmental responsibility has become one of the company’s principles, considering the trend of increasing electric mobility in the coming years.
The IGNITION initiative allows all employees who are part of the large multinational in Japan to propose innovative solutions and ideas aimed at reducing carbon emissions. The proposals will be forwarded to the responsible departments or associated startups for feasibility assessment.
The Company Allocated 20% of Revenue to Support New Ideas from Employees
Investments from the IGNITION initiative will be funded from the company’s revenue, with 20% of the total allocated for these new proposals. However, all new ideas will be evaluated by a group of professionals who will analyze the risks and opportunities for the current market.
The multinational Honda has also partnered with a venture capital company to advise proposers on their ideas, in order to present more robust projects with higher chances of approval. The approval period for each proposal includes a 6-month assessment for feasibility studies. However, this is an initiative that will disrupt the competition, considering the significant revolution that is about to happen within electric mobility.
