Aliança Energia, a Brazilian Company Operating in the Energy Market, After Million-Dollar Investments, Launched Its Activities with the Gravier Wind Power Plant Located in Ceará.
The Gravier Wind Power Plant, located in Icapuí on the East Coast of Ceará, began electricity generation using all its 17 wind turbines in the last week of 2022. With an addition of 71.4 MW of installed capacity and investments of approximately R$ 400 million, the arrival of this new wind farm from Aliança Energia was successfully completed in technical, environmental, operational, and health and safety terms.
Wind Power Plant in Ceará Can Generate Power for 180,000 Households
According to Carlos Henrique Afonso, Administrative Director of Gravier and Implementation Manager at Aliança Energia, the plant has an installed capacity equivalent to the consumption of 550,000 people, that is, 180,000 households, aiming to generate renewable and clean energy toward the development of a more sustainable future.

The electricity produced by the plant in Ceará will be connected to the National Interconnected System (SIN), through a substation (SE) of Chesf, Mossoró IV, via a 230 kV transmission line extending 9 km.

Marcos Liberato do Nascimento, Engineering Manager at Aliança Energia, emphasizes that the realization of the wind power plant represents a significant milestone in the company’s history. According to the manager, the project was designed, constructed, and structured by the company’s own team, which brings even more pride.
The engineering team at Aliança worked solidly in all areas since the beginning of the project, always aiming to capture the maximum synergy with the Santo Inácio Wind Complex and enhance the economic and technical attractiveness of the enterprise in Ceará.
Ceará Municipality Already Has 170 MW Installed
The company already operates in Icapuí the Santo Inácio Wind Complex (Cesi), which completed 5 years of activities in December of last year. With the commissioning of the wind power plant, Aliança Energia totals 1,328 MW of installed capacity, of which 170 MW of this total are in Icapuí, further expanding the share of wind energy in the national energy matrix and its commitment to contribute to the quality of life of the local population.
According to Christina Maciel Luz, Wind and Solar Plants Manager, more than 600 direct jobs were generated during the installation phase of the wind farm, with a significant portion of them filled by local workers.
Investments were also made in social and environmental programs, reinforcing Aliança Energia’s commitment to the people of Ceará. Christina emphasizes that the company continues to generate opportunities and income for families in the region, operating sustainably.
