According to the Brazilian Association of Motorcycle, Moped, Ciclomotor, Bicycle and Similar Manufacturers (Abraciclo), the highest production rate of electric motorcycles in the last 6 years was recorded.

100 Thousand Electric Motorcycles Not Produced Due to the Pandemic

Marcos Fermanian, president of Abraciclo, states that motorcycle production could have been even higher, but production lines still operate at reduced capacity due to health protocols.

100 thousand units were not produced in the first quarter due to the second wave of the pandemic in the state. The market is expected to remain warm due to factors such as the use of electric motorcycles for delivery services, high gasoline prices, and high electric car prices. In order to meet the growing demand in the market, Voltz, a manufacturer of scooters and electric motorcycles, will begin production at its new factory in the Free Trade Zone of Manaus in the first quarter of this year.

Voltz’s Plans Highlight New Investments in Manaus

According to Voltz partner Manoel Fonsêca, what prevents Brazilian consumers from acquiring electric motorcycles or cars is a lack of knowledge about these vehicles. Hence, insecurity arises at the time of purchase.

The Voltz factory, which will receive an investment of R$ 54 million, is expected to create 200 jobs in the state and will have a production capacity of up to 15 thousand vehicles per month.

The search for electric motorcycles has gained momentum in recent months with the rising prices of electric cars and gasoline, and these vehicles remain one of the best options for those looking to save on mobility since the cost of refueling is quite low.
